Grow your own unique, low-maintenance plant with Beaucarnea Recurvata 'Ponytail Palm' seeds. These plants are not true palms, but a succulent that grows a bulbous caudex stem with concentrated leaf growths that resemble — you guessed it — a ponytail!
Instructions:
We recommend using the following to sow the seeds:
- 12 Cavity Mini Greenhouse
- Soil Pellets or Soil Pods
- Liquid Fertilizer
Ponytail palms are easy to germinate and grow as houseplants. The main downside is how slow their growth is. They are very low-maintenance, preferring infrequent watering, bright indirect light, and only need to be fertilized 2–3 times a year.
Store these seeds in a cool, dry place if not planting right away. It is recommended to plant them right away — the longer they are stored, the lower the germination rates will be.
Sow the seeds in moist potting medium, cover with a humidity dome, and keep consistently above 70°F and out of direct sunlight (grow lights or indirect, filtered sun is ideal). Once the seeds sprout, the seedlings can gradually be acclimated to stronger sun.
These seeds are for the 2026 growing season.
